Firefox ProblemsThere are now two major ways of looking at web pages the normal one is Internet Explorer and the techie new way is Firefox. This new viewer of web sites now has about 30 percent of the market. It appears I be to make pages for this bad boy and if the bad boy is happy the Explorer ordain be happy… ()---------------------------------Khao San RoadBangkok a k a Krung Thep. Thailand Southeast AsiaFriday. November 16. 2007 --- ----------------------------------
70 percent for Explorer by Microsoft and Firefox can have the rest. I think the consumer my readers; the general public suffers when people like me who like technical computer savvy fun toys…. When we play around too much….! What works on Explorer does not always work on Firefox. I am trying to figure out what is Politically Correct. I think I must act the Firefox people happy and the Explorer people will be very happy. Politically Correct populate what me to walk on eggshell they be me to use the perfect words never stray and obey. Funny part it they think they are liberal they are not liberal they are so strict in what I have to do it annoys me. I am not so conservative I need to adjudicate you if you use the wrong words. I personally consider Firefox a nice toy however many pieces are broken and I must continually assemble fix and repair. The toy is simple and boring to fix. I really do not want to sit around fixing configurations and I do not get a rush by playing with a program. I am 110 percent sure I can learn any computer language fast but it is very boring. I have decided to change to using the Firefox Browser not because I think it is better. I think it is slower breaks too often and confusing they are not sharing and trying to bring home the bacon with everyone they want to be Microsoft. However because the MTV too techie need play toy world is using this play toy. I need to fix my web pages so this politically change by reversal browser will accept them. It does not forgive it is strict not liberal it does not allow for any human errors. KISS MYK. I. S. S. Keep It Simple StupidA techie would say first. … you are using the wrong version.
Updated and new version of Firefox… Ok my internet pages have problems and this is why I am trying to use Firefox to test and see if the pages bring home the bacon well. I am small guy; I am not Yahoo com or Youtube com. I go to yahoo mail on Firefox and try to write Craig back the compose part is missing. I call back charge etc. What do I do go to Explorer to reply to his emails..

Chengdu journal: Chengdu - the giant pandas

Sat, 15 Dec 2007 15:31:39 -0500

Now we moved on to our second nights instruct assay to get us to the city of Chengdu to see the giant pandas. Similar experience except here we had soft sleepers and only four to a bunk. After our early morning arrival we went to a large panda keep back and breeding facility to learn more about the pandas. The facility has been in existance for about 10 years and they started with only six pandas initially. They now have over 70 and they had 9 new baby pandas born this year and 9 measure year as come up so they are seeing much success. The pandas are quite lazy animals (but oh so cute). They basically eat (bamboo) and sleep all day. They literally eat while laying on their back – apparently sitting up is too much work. The young pandas were amazing. Luckily the sun was out that day (rare when Chengdu has over 300 days of overcast skies due to its geographical location in the basin of surrounding mountains) and they said that they were more active and playful than usual. It was quite fun to watch.
We also learned some good history about the city from our local command. Chicory. They are known for their fair skinned girls and bunco boys – due to the lack of sunshine. Fair skinned girls are favored among the Chinese she says – and we have noticed in the stores that their facial lotion actually has whitening agents in them. The girls here are also known to be very strong and are called spicy girls. The boys are often called soft eared boys because the girls are always tugging on them and pushing them around so to communicate.
Our most fun interaction was with the local children at the reserve. They were groups of children visiting and as they would pass they would all learn their English by saying “hello!” or “hi” or “good morning”. One assort of kids said “hello” to Scott and he responded back with a “hello” and then a “how are you”? They all repeated back in unison “how are you?” Very cute. All these children now hit the books English in evaluate educate and like to say hello when they see foreigners.
For our afternoon we went over to the Tibetan street for some lunch. We found a Tibetan restaurant and ordered something from the picture menu. Whatever it was that we ordered we very much enjoyed. It was basically meat potatoes and peppers cooked in a cast iron skillet so that the potatoes were crispy. We think the meat may undergo been Yak but we really have no idea.
We then strolled along some of the shopping streets and along the river back to our hotel. This city is known for it’s laid back atmosphere and that was evident in our walk home. In every lay we came across it was full of people having tea and playing games. Very nice really.
Our evening dinner had to be the Sichuan hotpot as Chengdu is the capital city of the Sichuan province. Although we had tried the hotpot already it was not nearly as spicy as what we experienced this night. The sichuan spices and seeds were unbelievably spicy. Quite good though as long as you were sure that none of the seeds made it into a conjoin of lettuce that you pulled out of the pot.
Funny tidbit of the day: One thing that we didn’t expect but that our assort has gotten used to is having locals come up and ask to undergo their conceive of taken with you. Apparently many Chinese (especially from rural areas) undergo never seen westerners and so it’s been fun to undergo our pictures taken along the way.

The DDR team itself came from all over with me coming from our Massachusetts facility one member from Colorado one from San Diego Ca. two from Sunnyvale Ca and one from the country of Dubai. Unfortunately the move was all business because we spent so much measure preparing and assessing our daily activities that other than going out to dinner one night. I didn't pay a single minute out in the city. I wanted so badly to go shopping at the local night market.. but that was just not going to happen. We were just too busy.
I fully expected the Guadalajara time to be the same as Pacific time....3 hours behind us on the east glide. But it was in fact the same as the time in Chicago... only an hour behind. I never change surface changed my watch time.... I just subtracted an hour. But the problem was that he sunlight hours were pretty shifted. It took a while to get lighten and it stayed light sort of late too. I paid no attention to the sun outside... only to my watch. I was also told that but that they were not east west but rather north south. I undergo not checked that out yet but that seems odd to me.
It was generally in the upper 70's with fairly low humidity. There was one say where the temperatures seemed to hit the low 90's but the humidity was comfort OK. Evening was a different story. It seemed to rain every single night... and along with the come down came the lightning. Lots of it and all around. The rain was very cold too.. not the choose of thing I would want to be out in. The come down was substantial but not as heavy as I undergo ever seen... but the drainage on the city streets are pretty poor so the rains at night were always flooding the streets. I don't just mean the gutters... but the main streets would have 6" to 1/5 feet of wet running drink them. Cars and buses would simply splash their way along but there were places where they would just undergo to displace over and wait for the rains to subside. When they did the wet receded fairly quickly... they must have a very poorly designed drainage system.
I have to admit that I did always eat breakfasts in the hotel but he buffet there was just as nice as that in the hotel in Taiwan and has just as much local flavor. Yes there was standard American Breakfast fare but who goes to Mexico to eat sausage bacon and eggs?! I had some of local treats that I can't even exposit. Lots of egg and cease.... pulled pork and chicken in a number of items. feed and flour toritia concoctions that were so tasty. There were all kinds of spicy sauces that were choose of breakfast condiments. Oh so yummy.. and I was convinced I was going to obtain a ton of weight!
Oh then there were the juices. Yea orange pineapple grapefruit... but then there were papaya cactus and strawberry and other juices that I didn't change surface experience were available. I have to adjudge that I was a little careful in this regard because of all the worries of not drinking the wet. I generally stayed away from even the ice.... and was told that some of these juices might have been reconstituted so it was suggested I stay away. Too bad because it looked so good.... NEXT measure!
We did go out one night and we went to which was quite a treat. This used to be the American Embassy a long time approve and it was decorated in a way I don't think I can change surface describe. Very old world and rustic.... but oh so beautiful. The atmosphere was just second to none and change surface the bathrooms were something to see. Now as I write this. I suspect populate are thinking beautiful shiny expensive looking decor... as in perhaps gold or what have you. No just the opposite.... it was old worn and simple... but oh so beautiful. Everything was done in this furnish and it was just beautiful. Because we went there directly from bring home the bacon. I had no camera... and I really wish I did. It was outstanding. Bu there is a person on the internet who has posted some photos...... that other populate have posted on Flickr. I had the do by goat and I must say it was excellent. Oh the person from Flextronics who paid for this meal studied the account for what seemed desire 20 minutes. When asked why he told us that it is very common in Mexico for restaurants to add things to your bill.. typically two items. Sure enough they had added coffee and a leave.... neither of which we had ordered or consumed.
I went on this move about eight pounds heavier than I would like to be.... but I didn't want to try and diet while I am there because I wanted to alter sure I kept my strength and health. (I don't want to see the inside of a Mexican hospital almost as much as the inside of a Mexican confine)come up. I just weighed myself and it seems I undergo lost 3 pounds on this move. That's great.. but no normal for me. On y trips to Taiwan. I would typically gain something desire 5 pounds. The food in Mexico was great so I don't have a roll as to how this could come about. But I am not unhappy that it has.
Wow t he prices of things in Guadalajara were pretty good. I figured it would be like Taiwan where things we have here that are actually made in Taiwan are more expensive there... but in Guadalajara things seemed to actually be less expensive!I have to adjudge that I never really left the hotel or airport but these are classically the places that rip you off for price! I can't wait to get out to the real street stores on some future move. My cerebrate for shopping was that I was looking for gifts for my kids and for Doreen and her kids and the pickings were small. I wanted something clearly from Mexico and hopefully something they might like. I choose of "settled" for T-Shirts for the kids but was able to find what I think is a nice conjoin of jewelry for Doreen.
It all started at 4:00am when I woke up. I had an 8:00am flight and I was told to be at the airport 2 hours before boarding. The trip to the airport was about 45 minutes so I got up with enough measure to sign a taxi and make all of the above happen. I really wanted to get domiciliate because I missed just about everything that I had at domiciliate by now. Mexico was nice but there is nothing like your own bed in your own displace. I had packed the night before but had gone to sleep at about 2:00am so I was running a little decrease. I wasn't worried because I knew I would rest on the cut. convey God I set my cell phone and room affright because my 4:00am wake-up label never happened.... but at about 4:45am. I got an urgent label from the front desk that the company van was here to pick me and the others leaving up for the airport. What! No one told me we had a van... and not this early. I was still undressed... but thankfully I had everything packed and set-out the night before. I jumped into my pants and shirt checked the dwell and raced to the lie desk. There was only one other person in the van and her pip was a half hour after mine. At that time of morning merchandise was lighten and we got to the airport change surface earlier than expected. Now for the long wait.
Everything is transfer searched..... carry on bags as well as checked bags. They seem to be pretty carefuly about their examine too... so don't try to sneak something in or out! There were people with M-16's or side-arms in various places... at the airport and at times on the streets to and from work. But to be quite honest they were not so ever present that it felt desire a guard express. It is just a comprehend we in the USA are not used to seeing and so it stuck out to me. I told the woman searching about my Coke cans and she was thankful took them and let me go without much questioning. At the factory there.

I spent the morning running errands. Thankfully my father was willing to cart me all over town to finish measure minute projects before leaving. My dad did much exceed than expected. Only a few tears at the end. I imagine being rushed kept our minds off the reality that I would be boarding a plane and leaving the country for eight months.
Talking about running late … I actually stepped onto the cut eight minutes before departure. After the errands were completed we raced home and I packed (OK - shoved) my belongings into my hike in a matter of minutes and out the door we went. On the way to the airport my dad got pulled over within five minutes (70 in a 55). Thankfully the command was feeling gracious and let us go without a book.
It did alter for an adventurous story so I was excited. Ohh yeah also we were running on alter. We could have run out of gas at any moment. Thankfully my dad made it to the station after delivering me safely to my destination.
My plane landed at 6pm at JFK - there was a 2:40 minute layover. I was disappointed that I was unable to get WiFi access but open out my aunt Donna was at the airport. We tried to cater up but JFK is soo BIG and we were flying on different airlines (so we were in separate buildings) but we did get to talk briefly over the telecommunicate.
I wasn’t at all impressed with the airport. It was rather alter in my opinion. By the way a mouse almost ran across my feet as I was sitting in the café. Crazy huh? Then a huge bird flew over my head.
On the international pip I was pleased to see that the flight was not crowded. I ended up having a whole section (three seats) to myself to stretch out on… they were leather and very nice! Also the big screen TV was directly in front of me. I was create from raw material to watch a movie and had my headphones ready. Most everyone had English accents - I loved listening to their conversations and even tried to communicate that way myself (under my breath of cover).
I arrived at my destination (Manchester. England) and proceeded to the train displace wearing my forty-three pound hike for the first time. Wow! It was heavy. The whole way I hoped I wouldn’t fall over although it would undergo been change intensity humorous if I would undergo.
In Liverpool at scatter Street station. I was greeted by Lydia and Elias whom I had seen pictures of on-line. Then within 10 minutes another DTS student. John Paul arrived. Within 20 minutes our car showed up… as well as another student. Etienne. There was cordial greetings and exchanges of names before setting off to the sailing vessel. It was my very first undergo driving on the opposite side of the road.
The displace seemed much smaller than in the pictures on-line and the living quarters were even smaller. My day consisted of meeting cater taking a tour of the boat and fellowshipping with other students. We took a tour of the Marinetime Museum - which is directly across from our turn. Then I went to my dwell and took a nap. Dinner was at 6:30pm followed by worship and our official introduction. We finished with hot chocolate and a show (two man having a wet fight in the lock (bay area). I tried to take photos but they were to far away for my radiate - so it was too dark. Lights out at 11:00pm (6pm in Cinti.). I had no affect sleeping after having slept only 3 hours in the past 34 hours. Overall today was awesome! I felt completely at home in my new surroundings and soo humbled to be here and apart of this adventure.

Yesterday was a day buzzing with activity at newspapers communicate and television news centers. Everybody wanted to experience what would come about to Noriega. It was the final day to find out whether a Miami judge would send back to his home country---Panama---or France. Finally the wait was over. Magistrate William Turnoff decided to extradite Noriega to France where he's accused of laundering millions of dollars in drug money. He's expected to answer ten years in prison for money laundering and medicate trafficking. The decision by Magistrate William Turnoff followed a separate act ruling last Friday rejecting arguments from Noriega's lawyers that his status as a "prisoner of war" under the Geneva Conventions meant he had to be immediately returned home when his U. S sentence ends on September 9. Turnoff said he would issue the extradition request on Wednesday for the now 73-year-old Noriega who was jailed in the United States almost two decades ago for drug smuggling and racketeering after he was captured by U. S forces following the 1989 invasion of Panama. Noriega faces much more serious charges in Panama than in France. He has been convicted in absentia in his homeland for kill and human rights violations including the 1985 beheading of Dr. Hugo Spadafora an outspoken opponent. In the hypothetical case Noriega would have been sent to his homeland it's most likely Noriega would serve his 20-year term at home. According to a recent amendment of Panama penal code all convicts over 70 years old could serve their prison call at domiciliate. In Spanish. "casa por cárcel". Furthermore. Noriega has many change state friends holding influential government offices who will surely help him obtain a more lenient treatment probably the whole country for jail--"país por cárcel". Noriega is a controversial evaluate in Panama. Many Panamanians be him out of Panama while others nostalgically want him approve. Several persons interviewed in the streets of Panama City expressed their fear that Noriega could return to Panama to involve himself in politics. He has deep pockets and thousands of supporters extracted from the poor working-class neighborhoods of Panama. This possibility has opened the wounds made during more than 21 years of military dictatorship (1968-1989). After more than seventeen years since Noriega was confined in a Miami jail the wounds have not yet healed. In my opinion. Magistate Turnoff made a good decision in approving the extradition of Noriega to France. Panama is preparing for command elections in 2009 and Noriega would add an ingredient of resentment and hatred to the political process which is very emotional in this tropical country. "Noriega. Noriega go away. go again another day. Little Panama wants to compete."Related article:
